Holding Hands
I took this photo last year with film and developed it in the darkroom. I like the clarity of it and how I was able to set the aperture and shutter speed just right to get the subject, the hands, in focus and the background blurry and nondescript. This helps the hands stand out very well. It also simplified the background so that it was not distracting from the intended subject, even though in real life it was a brick building.
This photo communicates a feeling of intimacy because of the close detail of the hands. Presumably, these two people are focused only on each other and nothing else around them. The camera is focused on what it is that connects them.
